The Site module's form fields

This section contains information on each of the Site component's fields, their purpose, and input requirements.

Content tab

Site name

  1. Enter the descriptive title for the name of the site.
  2. This information is used in various areas throughout the site such as: the logo's alt tag, the default 'from name' for emails, the footer of emails, and anywhere that the name of the site must be represented.

Site URL (Primary domain)

  1. Enter the full URL of the primary domain which you wish people to use to access this site.
  2. The domain must be prefixed with "http://" and have a trailing forward slash "/".
    For example: "http://www.mydomain.com/"

Server alias (Secondary domains)

  1. Enter a space delimited list of any other domains which you have pointing to the server which you would like to redirect to this site.
  2. Do not prefix the domains with "http://" or include trailing forward slashes "/".
    For example: "www.domain1.com www.domain2.com".

Site interface

  1. Select the interface template that you wish your website to use.
  2. All licences come with a "default" template, selected by default.
  3. Any bespoke templates will also be listed here.

Default email

  1. Enter the email address to be used as the default "from address" for all emails sent by OmCore.

Home page

  1. Select the page which you wish to load by default when your site's Primary URL or any of its Secondary Domains are loaded.

404 error page

  1. Select the page that users should be redirected to when a page URL cannot be found.

Send to a friend page

  1. This option is deprecated.

Default navigation

  1. When loading the Site tree component, by default the Navigation group menu will select the topmost option. If this site uses a specific navigation group, that you wish to be selected by default when logging into the CMS, then select the navigation group here. Note: For this to take effect for a specific site you must log into the CMS using that site's domain. For example, if you log into the CMS using http://www.mydomain.co.uk/cms/ then the selected default navigation for http://www.mydomain.co.uk/ will be selected in the site tree. In the same manner when logged into http://www.otherdomain.co.uk/cms/ the default navigation of http://www.otherdomain.co.uk/ will be selected.

Meta data tab

  1. The data saved here represents the default meta data that will be applied to all pages of the site.
  2. Unique meta data can be assigned to individual pages within Website / Site tree.

Meta title

  1. The title of your web page.

Meta description

  1. A sentence describing the purpose of your website, commonly presented in search engine listings.

Meta keywords

  1. Enter a comma delimited string of keywords.

Scripts tab

Allows global scripts to be placed on all pages of your site. This can be overridden on a page per page basis using the scripts tab of the Pages component.

  1. Global head script - JavaScript placed here will be inserted into the HTML head element of every page.
  2. Global footer script - JavaScript placed here will be inserted into every page just before the closing HTML tag.

Colours tab

Throughout the CMS content is managed using a text editor. The text editor has a Style menu which allows colours to be assigned to selected strings. The colours which appear within the Style menu are managed here.

  1. Colour x - Select the colour from the pop-up colour palette to appear within the list.
  2. Colour x description - Give your selected colour a description to inform the user as to its purpose.

Info tab

  1. Status - Only approved sites will load. Unapproving a site will take it immediately off-line. When a site is unapproved then all of its assigned domains will redirect to the primary site. If no sites are approved then the following URL will be loaded: http://cms.solv.it/cms-disabled/
  2. Created / Last modified - Displays information on the user who created and/or last modified the site.
