Google sitemap submissions

  1. This feature allows you to automatically or manually submit a copy of your site map to Google.
  2. Site maps provide additional information about your site to Google, complementing normal methods of crawling the web, helping Google to crawl more of your site and in a more timely fashion.
  3. The automated service submits the site map every time a page is inserted, updated, or deleted.
  4. The date and time that the last submission was made is presented at the foot of the feature.
  5. Pages which are hidden using the 'Hide page' option are not included.

Activating automatic Google site map submissions

  1. When Google site map submissions is inactive an Activate button will be displayed.
  2. Click on the Activate button to activate the service.
  3. Once activated a Deactivate button will be displayed.

Deactivating automatic Google site map submissions

  1. When Google site map submissions is active a Deactivate button will be displayed.
  2. Clicking the Deactivate button will deactivate the service.
  3. Once deactivated an Activate button will be displayed.

Manually submitting the Google site map

  1. If you do not wish to use the automated service you can manually submit your site map to Google by clicking on the Submit to Google now button.
